The world’s biggest network of mobile phone, China Mobile, could possibly soon offer its customers Apple’s iPhone.

The chairman of Chinese carrier’s has confirmed the two firms are in talks.
Compatibility issues between the China Mobile’s 3G networks and iPhone mean that currently Apple’s handsets just work on the much slower 2G service.
The problem could be resolved with by the launching of the next iPhone, it is rumoured to happen this summer, and when China adopts the 4G standard, analysts say.
China Mobile is the biggest country’s mobile phone network, and in terms of users is the world’s largest, with customers reach more than 660 million.
Although the iPhone isn’t yet in China Mobile’s official product line-up, but about 15 million of the company’s customers are thought to be iPhone users already, by having bought the phone through different channels.
Despite of being the biggest telecoms provider, China Mobile is the only operator country that doesn’t support the iPhone.
China Mobile’s market share is about 67 percent, a lot more than its two rivals China Telecom and China Unicom – but it has been slipping steadily in past few years.
Officially offering the iPhone to its subscribers will help China Mobile to get back the consumers that has lost to other carriers.
Xi Guohua ,China Mobile chairman said that, the ongoing discussions between the two firms at a shareholders meeting in Beijing.
“We have been actively talking to Apple on how we can cooperate,” he stated.
“I cannot give you the details, but I’d like to say once more that both sides do hope to boost our cooperation.”
